Corporate Responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility, or sustainability, is about how companies integrate social and environmental concerns in their business operations and in their interaction with their stakeholders according to People, Planet and Profit. At Kuoni Global Travel Services, we believe we have a role to play in driving a more sustainable development in the travel sector and society at large.

Policies and Commitments

We strive to act as a good corporate citizen which takes into full account the current and future economic, social and environmental impacts of our business through the GTS Supplier Code of Conduct. Read about our recognition here.

Areas of Focus

At Kuoni Global Travel Services, we focus on four areas of CSR, namely Sustainable Supply Chain, Environment, Global Giving and Corporate Volunteering, the latter of which focus on providing employees with opportunities to engage and which align with our People Deal.  

Sustainable Supply Chain

Our aim is to ensure compliance with the Supplier Code of Conduct, increase awareness internally and develop sustainable products.

Targets in 2016:

1.Train sourcing staff on the Supplier Code of Conduct and Sustainable Excursion Guidelines;

2. Support MICE Division in building a sustainability strategy in accordance to ISO 20121;

3. Collaborate with UEFA, as the official UEFA EURO 2016 Accommodation Agency, in assessing contracted accommodation providers on their sustainability performance and compliance with the Supplier Code of Conduct.


Our aim is to reduce environmental footprint within own operations and in supply chain; reduce carbon footprint and build climate change impact resilience.

Targets in 2016:

1. Continue to report our energy, water, paper, waste and business travel metrics to the Kuoni Group and improve data quality;

2. Raise awareness of our colleagues by sharing tips and best practice on office ecology;

3. Create and distribute informational flyers for welcome-kits on water protection, wildlife conservation, and climate change for top destinations as appropriate;

4. Help build climate change resilience by supporting Gold Standard carbon offset projects with proven societal co-benefits.

Global Giving and Corporate Volunteering

Our aim is to increase employee’s sense of engagement, responsibility and commitment; raise employee’s awareness on sustainability and provide opportunities to contribute to society and local communities.

Targets in 2016:

1. Formally recognize CSR targets in annual goal-setting process for our CSR Champions as appropriate;
2. Integrate CSR information in employee inductions;
3. Host a global sustainability awareness event;
4. Support offices in implementing corporate volunteering programmes so that all employees can benefit from their formal volunteering allowance;
5. Support fundraising activities by providing matched funds and organizing one global event.
